Gretta Garbo in New York

Gretta Garbo one of the most beautiful women of all time. Her face was the muse of many writers and artists of her time.

Many feared that her career would fail in the "talkies". She was a major movie star in the silent film industry, and many feared that her deep throaty voice would bomb on the big screen now that sound had been introduced. To the contrary, her voice seemed to lure more people to the mystique of Gretta Garbo.

Please see the Gretta Garbo Replica Jewelry Line from her famous films and personal collection at LorisHollywoodJewelry.com

Facebook works!

I made a business page on Facebook some time back and the business has fans! I even made my first sale through Facebook the other day. Really neat...and it's free!

My first Facebook sale was a Jean Harlow Art Deco ring. I'll post the pic on the blog. Here's some additional history and info about Jean Harlow and her Art Deco ring:

First Blonde Bombshell!

"Mind if I slip into something more comfortable?" Harlow's famous line from Howard Hughes' 1920's film Hell's Angels. She came into our consciousness and never left...the First Blonde Bombshell had arrived! At beauty parlors around the country, women demanded the platinum-blonde Harlow look.

Harlow held her own to big male stars like Clark Gable and Spencer Tracy; she proved that she had own style and star power!

Gem: 4.12 cts cz center stone surrounded by 14 baguette-cut stones. Rhodium plated over silver. (Ring also comes with a Replica Certification and History Card)

Thanks so much for your interest! Please see LorisHollywoodJewelry.com to see the complete 250 piece jewelry line and also read some history of the Golden Era of Hollywood.

Natalie Wood Biography

For anyone like me who is interested in Golden Era Hollywood, please watch the Biography Channel. They have biographies of stars from Old Hollywood and not so old. Recently I watched Natalie Wood's biography. I must admit was horrified by her mother! Her mother tore the wings off a butterfly just to make Natalie (whose real name is Natalia Zacharenko) cry real tears for a screen test. Unbelievable! So sad.

Well, I must admit that I am not up to date on my star trivia as I should be. I didn't know that Natalie Wood's singing voice was edited and replaced by another singer in West Side Story. To Natalie's credit though, she did get a chance to sing in the film Gypsy (where she played Rose Lee). In Gypsy, Natalie Wood's character stands up to her mother!

To those interested, I'll post a picture of the replica pendant Natalie Wood wore in West Side Story. To see the full Natalie Wood Collection, please log onto LorisHollywoodJewelry.com There are about 40 star collections on the site. I find the history of each star and jewelry piece interesting so did my best to include some information about who, when and where the jewelry was worn.

Thank you for your interest.

I have a follower!

Welcome follower! Wow! I feel so special:)

Well, I think I'm going to pull the inventory from the antique mall and maybe put it in a hospital gift shop? I don't know. It's hard to market the jewelry because franchises don't want to sell someone else's product, so one has to find independent contractors with similar interests but not be in competition. I've tried hair salons (with no luck), but I think customers don't want to spend any more money after getting their hair done (which I understand!---cost me $80 dollars to get a perm and cut last time). So maybe a gift shop at the hospital is a better idea.

Well, anyway a friend of my mine is getting married at real southern plantation with a Gone with the Wind theme! I'm so happy for her. She found some earrings from the Vivien Leigh Collection to go with the theme. She's going to wear the Vivien Leigh Stately Earrings, these are not from Gone with the Wind---but hey close enough. I'll post a picture at the bottom of the blog along with the Gone with the Wind replica earrings on the website.

Hope my friend has a beautiful wedding. Her husband-to-be is actually planning the whole thing! Teasing, she said all she has to do is show up! All of this has inspired me to think about my own wedding someday. I always thought a 1940's theme would be neat, but I'd hate to ask people to buy an outfit to come to the wedding. Maybe my boyfriend and I will wear 1940 outfits at the reception instead.

Well, I can see from what time it is that I should NOT have drank that mocha cappuccino.

Thanks for reading!

Boy, it has been awhile since I wrote!

Wow, it has been since Oct. 29 of last year since I wrote! Well, a lot has gone on since then. The business has failed locally so I've pulled out and have been putting some of my inventory on e-bay. Some things have sold at Shadylane Antique Mall, here in my hometown of Terre Haute, but most of my profits go back to the rental space fee. On a positive note though, my website is doing okay! I usually get an order a week, sometimes two:)

Most everyone so far has been patient if he/she bought an item that I didn't have in stock/size and waiting a few more days for the jewelry.

Recently sold one of my favorite rings from the film, Hell's Angels (Directed by Howard Hughes) starring Jean Harlow. The movie was made in the 1920's and is a REALLY good movie; it has a nice story line and a lot of history concerning WW I. I'll post of pic of the ring and some movie history with a the bottom of the blog.

Well, still no followers, but that's okay. Sometimes it's nice to just write out and organize my thoughts.

Take Care to anyone, besides me, reading this:)

Ammo, Jewelry, Oh My?.. What?

Sorry I haven't wrote in a while, but I can tell by my followers (zero) that I've been missed. lol:)

Well, things are still slow with the business. I worked at a gunshow oddly enough. My boyfriend thought it would be a good show to do because the guy would buy something expensive and then feel guilty and get his wife or girlfriend something. Well we thought it sounded like a good idea, but too bad that it wasn't. I sold three things in three days so it was not worth all the expenses...really negative red to be at the show.

Looking forward to the holiday season. Perhaps, a little luck will happen then.
